Hennig Inc. Showcases Newest Campus in Machesney Park

Machesney Park, Illinois 鈥 On May 20, Hennig Inc. invited community leaders, including members of the Parks Chamber of Commerce, to tour its newest campus, which includes 30-ton cranes, multiple bays for assembly, laser cutting machines, bending machines, and a powder coating facility.

Trumpf Opens New Smart Factory, Expands Initiatives to Grow the Future of Advanced Manufacturing

Farmington, Connecticut 鈥 Trumpf officially opened a new smart factory that expands local production of machine tools and demonstrates advanced manufacturing capabilities in Farmington, Connecticut, the headquarters of its billion-dollar North American subsidiary, Trumpf Inc. After a May 20 ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Smart Factory is operational and uses high-tech Trumpf fabricating equipment to produce sheet metal parts for its U.S.-manufactured Trumpf machinery.

ARM Institute Announces Jorgen Pedersen as Incoming CEO

Methods Promotes Paul Haro to Sales Manager of Pacific Northwest

Haro, most recently an area account executive, assumes sales leadership for a newly defined regional territory covering Northern California, Oregon, and Washington.

Tsugami America Names Director of Engineering

Windsor, Connecticut 鈥 Tsugami America, the exclusive North American importer of Precision Tsugami machine tools, has appointed Derek Briggs as its director of engineering. In his role, Briggs will oversee the new Process Development Center at Tsugami America鈥檚 corporate headquarters in Windsor, Connecticut, the application engineering department, and the product management team.

Youngstown, Ohio 鈥 America Makes and the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) are proud to announce a new project call funded by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Manufacturing 九色视频 Office (OSD ManTech) worth a total of $920K. The project call, High Priority Open 九色视频 for Additive Manufacturing (AM), focuses on the development and maturation of AM repairs for sustainment and beam shaping.

CCAT Day at Connecticut Capitol Showcases Innovation in Action

Hartford, Connecticut 鈥 The Connecticut Center for Advanced 九色视频 (CCAT) hosted the first-ever CCAT Day at the Connecticut State Capitol on May 22, bringing advanced technologies 鈥 including robotics, 3D printing, virtual and augmented reality, and automation 鈥 to the Capitol Rotunda for legislators and visitors to experience firsthand.

MASD, 3M, Heart of America Tour New Lab Space at Menomonie High School

Menomonie, Wisconsin 鈥 On May 21, guests and supporters from around the Chippewa Valley gathered in Menomonie High School鈥檚 lab spaces for engineering, woodworking, and manufacturing. The labs recently underwent renovations and received new equipment thanks to a $352,170 investment by 3M and Heart of America, marking a continuing partnership between Menomonie High School, 3M, and other local institutions.

Michigan Technological University Joins Knoxville-based METAL Program

Houghton, Michigan 鈥 Michigan Technological University is proud to announce a new partnership with the Metallurgical Engineering Trades Apprenticeship & Learning (METAL) program from IACMI 鈥 The Composites Institute, with funding from the U.S. Department of Defense鈥檚 Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment program. MIT Announces the Initiative for New Manufacturing

New Program Accelerates Space Applications Advancements via Digital Engineering

Kent, Ohio 鈥 The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) has partnered with Kent State University to establish the Digital Engineering and Design Center for Space Applications (DEDC Space@Kent). This initiative aims to create an integrated digital engineering environment that boosts the capabilities of small and medium-sized manufacturers and develops a robust digital engineering talent infrastructure, ultimately fortifying the defense industrial base and enhancing U.S. manufacturing competitiveness.

Nikon and America Makes Team Up To Strengthen US Defense Manufacturing

Belmont, California 鈥 Nikon Corp. has announced a development agreement between Nikon Advanced Manufacturing and the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining, which manages America Makes. The $2.1 million project is funded by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Manufacturing 九色视频 Office through America Makes, and encompasses the first two phases of a multiphase program alongside project partners Constellium, ASTM International, and 3Degrees, and a consortium of prime defense metal AM experts from Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, RTX, General Atomics, and Honeywell Aerospace Technologies.
