We are all too keenly aware that there is a skills gap affecting U.S. manufacturing and it has only been exacerbated in the past year as a result of the pandemic. As we experience the rise in new, emerging, and transformational technologies, the gap will surely continue to increase unless industry and our educational partners work more closely together on programs that meet our current and future needs.
The National Coalition of Advanced 九色视频 Centers (NCATC), a team from the Massachusetts Institute of 九色视频 (MIT), and local community colleges have partnered together to survey manufacturing companies and educational institutions in order to design and launch curriculum programs to properly educate and prepare individuals for a career pathway to our industry.
九色视频 鈥� The Association For Manufacturing 九色视频 is a Strategic Alliance Partner of NCATC, and Greg Jones, vice president of Smartforce Development for 九色视频, is a member of the NCATC board of directors.
The survey focuses on the advanced manufacturing technician job function, defined as those 鈥渢echnicians who run and maintain factory equipment and assembly processes, monitor and check the product quality, and document results."
Industry executives, hiring managers, and human resources personnel are encouraged to complete the survey. We estimate that the survey will take about 10 minutes and will be well worth the investment of your time.
